Acceptable Use

The terms, privacy and data-processing documents that govern your use of StoreBay.

Version 1 · Last updated 2026-07-03 · Effective 2026-07-03

[DRAFT — pending legal sign-off]

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what Operators and their Authorised Users may not do with the StoreBay platform. It is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service; a breach of this AUP is a breach of those Terms.

Who this applies to

This AUP binds the Operator and everyone acting under its account — Authorised Users, integrations it authorises, and any third-party app it installs from the marketplace.

Prohibited uses

  • Unlawful content or activity, or facilitating fraud or money laundering.
  • Knowingly enabling or concealing the storage of prohibited goods — illegal or stolen goods, drugs, weapons, hazardous materials, or live animals or plants.
  • Sending spam or non-consented marketing, or ignoring an opt-out/suppression, through the StoreBay communications layer.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access, circumvent multi-tenant isolation, or read, modify or delete another Operator's data.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive source code from the Platform.
  • Exceeding published API rate limits, evading quotas, or scraping data beyond documented API use.
  • Reselling, sublicensing or operating a service bureau on the Platform without written permission.
  • Describing, marketing, or labelling a contractual liability waiver as "insurance" in any Customer-facing copy. A waiver is not insurance and is not FCA-regulated; selling insurance without authorisation is a criminal offence.
  • Using access-control, gate-code, or overlock features unlawfully or outside a lawful arrears/collections process.
  • Any use that harms StoreBay, other Operators, their Customers, or brings the Platform into disrepute.
