COMPARISON · AS OF 2026-07-31
The UK-native alternative to 6Storage.
The short answer
6Storage is a well-reviewed international platform with years of trading behind it — genuinely more than StoreBay can claim. The differences that matter for a UK operator are narrower: StoreBay publishes its pricing formula rather than quoting it, and models Bacs Direct Debit, storage licence agreements and UK data residency as first-class concerns. If you value a deep review base or operate outside the UK, choose 6Storage.
01 / The comparison
Capability by capability
| Capability | StoreBay | 6Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Published price you can compute | Base + per-unit ladder, published in full | Describes a flat per-unit rate; no published figure found (pricing page 404s) |
| Bacs Direct Debit | Advance notices, failure states and indemnity clawbacks modelled end to end | No public evidence of Bacs-specific handling |
| UK data residency | DigitalOcean LON1 + UK GDPR + PCI SAQ-A | No public evidence of a scoped UK-residency commitment |
| UK storage licence agreements | Licence to occupy, e-signed at move-in | No public evidence of UK licence-agreement templates |
| Multi-location management | Live multi-site occupancy, revenue and arrears | Yes — all facilities from a single login |
| Integrations programme | Open API, webhooks and sandbox on the base plan | Yes — partners and integrations programme |
| Review depth | No review base yet — we are new | One of the deeper Capterra UK review bases in the category |
6Storage facts from its own public materials, captured 2026-07-31 (claims-evidence #59). Where a row reads "no public evidence" it means we could not find it published — not that the capability is absent. 6Storage is a trade mark of its owner, named here for identification only.
02 / The core difference
What you can find out before the call
Both platforms will tell you the price. The difference is whether you have to ask.
6Storage’s site describes its pricing as transparent, with a flat rate per unit and no hidden fees. When we checked on 2026-07-31, its pricing page returned a 404 and we found no published figure — so the number itself comes from a sales conversation. Both of those are simply what we found; make of them what you will.
StoreBay publishes the formula rather than a starting point: £63/month +VAT including the first 50 units, then £0.48 per unit per month above that, with unlimited sites and seats. At 50 units that is £63/mo +VAT — a number you can check against your own unit count on our pricing page without talking to anyone.
03 / Where 6Storage wins
Three reasons to choose them instead
The first of these is the one we most obviously cannot answer, and it may be decisive for you.
A deep review base
6Storage has accumulated a substantial body of public reviews over years of trading. StoreBay has none, because we are new. If you weigh peer reviews heavily — and that is a perfectly rational way to buy software — this is a real advantage and we cannot match it yet.
Operating internationally
6Storage sells across multiple markets and maintains an international presence. StoreBay is deliberately UK-only: UK data residency, Bacs Direct Debit, storage licence agreements, UK VAT. If your sites span countries, that focus becomes a limitation rather than a feature.
Breadth of product surface
6Storage markets a wide product range across management software, websites and adjacent tooling, built by people with storage operating experience. Breadth is genuinely useful if you want one supplier for everything, and we are narrower by choice.
