01 / Mission
The operating system for self-storage operators — fill more units, automate the day-to-day, and run every site from one open platform.
StoreBay is built to fill more units, automate the day-to-day, and run every site from one open platform — and to be dependable underneath, not just on the surface.
02 / Why we exist
Storage software kept score. We wanted it to move revenue.
StoreBay started from a simple observation: UK self-storage has already digitised the basics — online booking and CCTV are close to universal — but conversion quality and automation are still the next real gains.
StoreBay is built and run by a small, senior team — founder Phil McParlane working with Claude Code as an engineering partner — rather than a large existing company, on purpose. It keeps the product honest about what’s actually shipped versus what’s still on the roadmap. Phil also writes StoreBay’s operator guides on starting and growing UK storage businesses.
What we believe
- Fill-rate and dependability aren't a trade-off — the same platform should do both.
- Openness compounds. Lock-in doesn't.
- The API, reporting and collections belong in the base plan, not an upsell.
- UK operators deserve UK-built, UK-hosted software.
03 / Values
What we optimise for
Operator-obsessed
Built around the outcomes an operator feels every month, not a feature checklist.
Open by default
The API, reporting and collections are included as standard, never a paid gate.
UK-built
UK-first by design, with UK data residency and UK-based support.
Dependable underneath
Automation only helps if it actually completes — every payment, message and access change is retried and never silently lost.
